Reliable Fusible Link Valves for Fire Safety and Flow Control
Protect Your Systems with Fire-Resistant Valve Solutions
What Fire Safe Valves Are and Why They Matter
Fusible link valves, also known as fire safe valves, are specialized devices designed to automatically shut off fluid flow when exposed to extreme heat. They use a heat‑sensitive fusible element that melts at a designated temperature, triggering the valve to close and prevent the spread of fire or hazardous fluids. These valves are essential in industrial, chemical, and commercial environments where safety, regulatory compliance, and rapid response are critical. At Valtorc International, our fusible link valves provide reliable performance, helping protect personnel, equipment, and facilities from fire risks.
Key Features and Benefits
Our fusible link valves are engineered for dependable fire protection and long-term service:
Industries and Typical Applications
Fusible link valves are critical components in facilities that prioritize safety and fire risk mitigation:
FUSIBLE LINK BUTTERFLY VALVE
Fire safe, fusible link butterfly valve. Available in carbon steel, in wafer or lug designs. From sizes 1/4" to 6" and 6" to 24". Butterfly valves are offered actuated and fusible links are FM approved.
FUSIBLE LINK BALL VALVE (THREADED)
Fire safe, fusible link ball valve, NPT, (National Pipe Thread) threaded. Available in stainless steel or carbon steel from sizes 1/4" - 3". All ball valves are API fire safe approved.
FUSIBLE LINK BALL VALVE (FLANGED ANSI)
ANSI flanged fire safe, fusible link ball valve in carbon steel. Available in sizes from 1/4" to 4" with FM approved fusible links. All fusible link valves are API approved.
FUSIBLE LINK INSTALLATION GUIDE
Fusible Link With Gearbox
- Remove the red safety link and disengage the gearbox to activate valves (armed).
- Fusible links should be changed annually.
- The valve can not be manually operated, it must remain open 100%
- Do not tighten nuts on to the fusible links. Doing so could cause a malfunction
- Keep the red link handy for valve maintenance.
Fusible Link Without Gearbox
- Remove the red safety link after installation
- Fusible links should be changed annually.
- The valves can be manually operated.
- Do not tighten nuts on to the fusible links. Doing so could cause a malfunction
- Keep the red link handy for valve maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does a fusible link valve work?
The valve contains a fusible element that melts at a specified temperature, causing the valve to automatically close and stop flow to prevent fire spread.
What is the difference between a fusible link ball valve and a shut off valve?
A fusible link ball valve provides on/off control with a spherical disc design, while a fusible link shut off valve focuses on immediate flow isolation for fire safety applications.
Are these valves suitable for high-pressure systems?
Yes. Our fusible link valves are engineered to operate safely under various pressures and flow conditions.
Can fusible link valves be installed in existing systems?
Absolutely. They can be integrated into new or retrofit installations for fire protection and safety compliance.
